The Letter "H"

Today's Letterpress Workshop theme was the letter "H".  It was amazing what Lorie thought of to set that "H" apart from anything I have seen participants do before. Stunning Brown ink on Kraft envelopes along with Vintage type + cuts. I know everyone that receives her personalized stationery will enjoy the look and feel of Letterpress and that "third" dimension on some beautiful cotton paper.

She was very drawn to the CabinPress Studio's Hamilton wood type, I always love when folks appreciate the history of it. Mixing vintage wood type + 2 font families for one "H"appy coaster!

The puzzles pieces are waiting to be placed by Lorie

Little Minnie working hard again with vintage wood + lead handset type. A great end product from a very special evening of Letterpress Printing. I know Lorie will be thinking of her next project. It was so fun to get to know her and her artistic background!

Happy Printers Unite!

Talk about a fun group of women taking a Letterpress Workshop together --- this is that fun group! I really felt the Letterpress Love come alive today with such creative minds all in one place. Taking some time out of their busy schedules from red letter creative and Bailiwick Press these women produced some fun blind impression personal stationery and red coasters which they decided to divide into 3 piles and share with each other.... I LOVED IT. You are all always welcome to come back to CabinPress Studio and create....create....create.
Launie + Kendra + Karla enjoying the day in the print shop.
These hands know what they are doing with that Key.

Let's print RED... RED... RED... it is fabulous. Check out that Bunny.

Wonderful Wednesday Workshops

I am always amazed by the wonderful + thoughtful things that my Workshop participants print with little "Minnie". Meet Cara + Karl, two very special participants that I was lucky to share the evening with. I could just tell by being around them they had so many ideas and settled on some beauties, to say the least. It was hard to tell they had never printed a piece in there lives, truly they are both naturals! Can you tell by looking at those stunning coasters that someone in this pair may drink a beer or two? But, then again, we are in Fort Collins, home to a few breweries, to say the least. They even told me last week they made a Pinhole Camera, amazing!
Thanks again you two + I hope you will visit again.

Love From Me...

2011 is the first year for The Love From Me Project and Mom is participating with a special piece of art. You can read more about it here. It was inspired by the 2009 (guess which one Mom did!, hint, hint, Golden Retriever) and 2010 Paws For Charity Art Book Project. Paws For Charity raised $5,500 for breast cancer charity.

A WOW Workshop!

“TV is bigger than any story it reports. It's the greatest teaching tool since the printing press." Fred Friendly (1915-1998)

Artist + Yoga Instructor = workshop ENERGY! Today I was joined by two super talented ladies in the mini Letterpress Workshop held here at CabinPress Studio. Marianne and Mindy were eager to learn as much as possible in our short time together.  They chose the soft color of Brown to print with and it showed off each of there designs in a very stunning way. Look at that ampersand and how the "M" is so subtle when printed on a Kraft envelope. I hope they enjoy writing some special notes on today's stationery they created! It was nice to see such good friends making an afternoon of letterpress printing and I hope they return.

Marvelous Monday Workshop

mar·vel·ous/ˈmärv(ə)ləs/Adjective

1. Causing great wonder; extraordinary.
2. Extremely good or pleasing; splendid.

This sums up today's morning workshop! I had the great pleasure meeting and working with Wylie, with such a unique name like that, I knew before I met her, she would be creating and printing something special. She is looking ahead and wanted to print several "thank-you" type cards in anticipation of a new little baby girl that will arrive REALLY SOON! I know "MO" & "WY" will be fantastic parents and diaper changers...

Successful Saturday in the Studio

Today's Letterpress Workshop was like a breadth of fresh air! Cathy + Michelle decided on using green ink and it really made me yearn for Spring, even though it was a pretty chilly day outside the Studio. I loved the way both of them really concentrated on setting up type and designing... so much so, I forgot to shoot some photos of their fabulous work, sorry gals. CabinPress Studio will always be open for both of you for any of your future projects. Come by again for some more Pantone Chip Cookies!
Time zoomed by, way too fast!
