Blue, Blue, Blue!

Suzanne + Robin = 2 fun, fun, women who loved, loved paper. You would not be able to tell they just met and spent a few hours together producing some beautiful BLUE stationery + coaster sets! I knew immediately Suzanne had a true love of paper.... a stationery distributor herself while living in the Windy City. She has this special twinkle in her eyes... a Mom to be (she needs to be thinking about some pink announcements for the new addition coming soon, HO HO HO). Can you tell Robin has a LOVE of animals? A woman of many healing talents for sure. See what her passion is here
I am always loving what Letterpress Workshop participants decide to create. Yes, BLUE pinecone coasters, truly stunning! Great job Suzanne.
Besides her Lupine stationery, Robin created this beauties to give out to her clients. WOOF!

Family Fun.

It is always a pleasure for me putting on a Letterpress Workshop for a mother + daughter! I knew right away how artistic they would both be when they pulled out their handmade aprons, put on gloves and got to work. What a fun day working along side them.

I loved MaDonna's apron from the start, but I think she enjoyed wearing her gloves and getting all "inky"!

Heather knew how she wanted her stationery to look and the precision of placement was something she was really good at....

wanting to have the doggie in just the right spot .... and the end result was stunning!

Once these two had the press set up under control... watch out! They were moving + printing. I loved how they worked together as a team. I enjoyed the energy they brought to CabinPress Studio + hope they know the Studio door is always open for them in the future.

ex·tra·or·di·naire

Michelle's concentration amazed me!

The design Michelle came up with printed perfectly as a photopolymer plate, what a fun creation.
Ahhh... Printers Black ink, a favorite here at CabinPress Studio
That describes this Curiosity Letterpress Workshop! I love getting to know participants and how their Letterpress Love came about and Michelle truly had a special story.... when we first spoke over the phone she told me how she watched Typeface on PBS, one of my favorite documentaries telling the story of a rural Midwestern museum and print shop where international artists meet retired craftsmen and together navigate the convergence of modern design and traditional technique of making "type".
I felt so at home and excited to have Michelle travel to CabinPress Studio for her Workshop. I hope she visits again soon and continues on her journey with Letterpress and her collection of paper. I know anyone that receives a handmade card from Michelle should cherish her work! The time and thought she puts in is amazing and EXTRAORDINAIRE, to say the least.

Fun. Fun. Fun.

What do you get when you put 1 mom-to-be, 2 newlyweds, (or 3 best friends) together in a tiny Letterpress Printing Studio?... an afternoon of fun times, type drawers everywhere, inky fingers, laughter, and printed items GALORE!!
A green day in the Studio.

Look at all the goodies these girls made!

Smiles abound.
Courtney, Kelly, and Tracey are the type of ladies that love to have fun + enjoy each others company --- all day long, simply a joy for me to be around. High energy was flowing from the Studio and the pieces each of them created were stunning and so "greenly" unique. Thanks for spending the afternoon in my world of Letterpress Printing. Come back soon!

Happy Mom's Day Present.

What a splendid Mother's Day present! I had such a fabulous time with Nancy + Jill and watching them work with each other and print some very, very special stationery. What a nice gift to have your Mom fly in and surprise her with something she truly had not been able to guess! I look forward to a longer visit next time and a return visit to the Studio for non stop printing. Happy Mother's Day to All.

Sisters Spending Time Together ....

What happens when sisters get together.... well, I certainly found out. What an uplifting evening with these two! Can you tell they are sisters that enjoy doing things together?! The night zoomed by and I loved hearing all the things they were going to do with the short time they had together before one flew back home to Nevada. Keep creating you two!!!

Come On Spring.

Placement is everything

The set up
Hard at work with Vintage cuts
A Happy Printer!

It was such a pleasure to see Lyn again + share Springtime with her + Letterpress printing! For someone who knew very little of this art form she went full speed ahead and decided to use some vintage cuts from the CabinPress Studio collection. As you can see the Spring theme was in full force and I loved it + all her precise work. Oh, and more importantly Lyn is a true doggie lover (English Setters 4ever!) ..... pets were non stop ... priceless.  ~MOOSE

Christmas in April?

Truly someone who is planning ahead!!
Red is always a popular color with Workshop participants. My Workshop participant Lynn surprised me when she created Christmas photo cards to get ready for the Holidays.... alas, I am day dreaming of Spring. I know she will visit the Studio again in the near future to print more special creations to send out to her family + friends. What is your favorite color?

The Letter "H"

Today's Letterpress Workshop theme was the letter "H".  It was amazing what Lorie thought of to set that "H" apart from anything I have seen participants do before. Stunning Brown ink on Kraft envelopes along with Vintage type + cuts. I know everyone that receives her personalized stationery will enjoy the look and feel of Letterpress and that "third" dimension on some beautiful cotton paper.

She was very drawn to the CabinPress Studio's Hamilton wood type, I always love when folks appreciate the history of it. Mixing vintage wood type + 2 font families for one "H"appy coaster!

The puzzles pieces are waiting to be placed by Lorie

Little Minnie working hard again with vintage wood + lead handset type. A great end product from a very special evening of Letterpress Printing. I know Lorie will be thinking of her next project. It was so fun to get to know her and her artistic background!

Happy Printers Unite!

Talk about a fun group of women taking a Letterpress Workshop together --- this is that fun group! I really felt the Letterpress Love come alive today with such creative minds all in one place. Taking some time out of their busy schedules from red letter creative and Bailiwick Press these women produced some fun blind impression personal stationery and red coasters which they decided to divide into 3 piles and share with each other.... I LOVED IT. You are all always welcome to come back to CabinPress Studio and create....create....create.
Launie + Kendra + Karla enjoying the day in the print shop.
These hands know what they are doing with that Key.

Let's print RED... RED... RED... it is fabulous. Check out that Bunny.

Wonderful Wednesday Workshops

I am always amazed by the wonderful + thoughtful things that my Workshop participants print with little "Minnie". Meet Cara + Karl, two very special participants that I was lucky to share the evening with. I could just tell by being around them they had so many ideas and settled on some beauties, to say the least. It was hard to tell they had never printed a piece in there lives, truly they are both naturals! Can you tell by looking at those stunning coasters that someone in this pair may drink a beer or two? But, then again, we are in Fort Collins, home to a few breweries, to say the least. They even told me last week they made a Pinhole Camera, amazing!
Thanks again you two + I hope you will visit again.

A WOW Workshop!

“TV is bigger than any story it reports. It's the greatest teaching tool since the printing press." Fred Friendly (1915-1998)

Artist + Yoga Instructor = workshop ENERGY! Today I was joined by two super talented ladies in the mini Letterpress Workshop held here at CabinPress Studio. Marianne and Mindy were eager to learn as much as possible in our short time together.  They chose the soft color of Brown to print with and it showed off each of there designs in a very stunning way. Look at that ampersand and how the "M" is so subtle when printed on a Kraft envelope. I hope they enjoy writing some special notes on today's stationery they created! It was nice to see such good friends making an afternoon of letterpress printing and I hope they return.

Successful Saturday in the Studio

Today's Letterpress Workshop was like a breadth of fresh air! Cathy + Michelle decided on using green ink and it really made me yearn for Spring, even though it was a pretty chilly day outside the Studio. I loved the way both of them really concentrated on setting up type and designing... so much so, I forgot to shoot some photos of their fabulous work, sorry gals. CabinPress Studio will always be open for both of you for any of your future projects. Come by again for some more Pantone Chip Cookies!
Time zoomed by, way too fast!
