Garden of Love.

I am so excited that the USPS will be issuing The Garden of Love — ten different First-Class stamps depicting a colorful mosaic of flora and fauna in a garden setting. These stamps are a continuation of the Love series, begun in 1973, and are intended for use on Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day cards, as well as on other occasions when love and affection are expressed. They will be a perfect stamp for Letterpress Wedding Invitations!

Earth Day, Every Day.

The special order invitations for the Earth Day documentary were a HUGE success! Mom + Dad went to the special showing at Colorado State University last night, without me. It was nice to hear that Aldo Leopold and his family were true dog people! How many times have you read Sand County Almanac?

Come On Spring.

Placement is everything

The set up
Hard at work with Vintage cuts
A Happy Printer!

It was such a pleasure to see Lyn again + share Springtime with her + Letterpress printing! For someone who knew very little of this art form she went full speed ahead and decided to use some vintage cuts from the CabinPress Studio collection. As you can see the Spring theme was in full force and I loved it + all her precise work. Oh, and more importantly Lyn is a true doggie lover (English Setters 4ever!) ..... pets were non stop ... priceless.  ~MOOSE

Christmas in April?

Truly someone who is planning ahead!!
Red is always a popular color with Workshop participants. My Workshop participant Lynn surprised me when she created Christmas photo cards to get ready for the Holidays.... alas, I am day dreaming of Spring. I know she will visit the Studio again in the near future to print more special creations to send out to her family + friends. What is your favorite color?

Eager Printers

The carving has begun!
Can you tell they are trying to figure out what a Printing Press actually does? Everyone is ready to print a Blind Deboss Bookmark.
"Minnie" is on the road again, this time to McGraw Elementary School. What a fantastic group this is! Stacey Siegel's 4th + 5th graders are SO eager to learn the art of carving Linoleum Blocks, we all meet bright and early before school begins for the next 3 weeks. I am so excited to see what the kids carve and print. What would you carve if you had the chance?

Quoin [koin, kwoin]–noun
In relation to
printing: a wedge of wood or metal for securing type in a chase. So many Letterpress Workshop participants love to hear the history about printing. Mom always enjoys those competitive Scrabble players getting really excited about a QUOIN!! Please get in touch with her if you just happen to be in Fort Collins and want to learn about + use a Quoin, she would love to show you how and I would love to have you pet me. What is your favorite Scrabble word?
